for the Hands-On Heart CT Workshop at Charité.
1. Enrollment in the course is considered confirmed once the participation fee has been paid and after we have sent a personal confirmation email to the participant.
2. The course participant provides the Institute of Radiology at Charité with their personal data to the extent required and agrees that their data will be stored for the purpose of organizing the course. The Institute of Radiology undertakes to use the participants’ personal data exclusively for internal purposes—namely, to issue the official certificate of successful course completion and to contact participants for subsequent scientific evaluation. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties.
3. Course registration may be canceled up to 30 business days before the course begins. If a cancellation is made by this time, an administrative fee of €50 will be charged, and the remaining registration fee will be refunded. Cancellations must always be made in writing. If cancellation occurs up to 15 business days before the course begins, 50% of the course fee will be refunded. No refund will be issued for cancellations made after this deadline, for failure to attend the event, or for premature withdrawal from the course.
4. The discounted rate for physicians in residency is granted only if a certificate issued by the participant’s own hospital and signed by the chief physician is submitted promptly. This certificate must identify the participant as a physician in residency.
5.The Institute of Radiology reserves the right to postpone or cancel courses for reasons beyond its control, such as illness of instructors, failure to reach the required number of participants, and similar circumstances. Registered participants will be notified in writing no later than two weeks before the scheduled start of the course. The Institute of Radiology will endeavor to offer alternative dates. Participants are free to choose whether to attend one of the offered alternative dates or to request a refund of the participation fee already paid. If no alternative course date can be offered, the participation fee will be refunded in full. Any further claims by participants, in particular claims for damages of any kind, are excluded.
6. Participation in the workshop is generally only possible if the full course fee has been received in the designated account of Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin by the start of the course. Payment by debit card or in cash is not possible.
7. For payments made from foreign banks or financial institutions, any bank fees incurred must be borne in full by the participant.
8. Upon full participation in the course and successful completion of the assessment, the participant will receive a certificate. If a participant misses scheduled class sessions, they may be excluded from the assessment.
9. The certificate will be handed over only in person and not to third parties. If a participant is no longer present when the certificate of participation is handed out, it will be sent by mail. This also applies if the course fees are not credited to Charité’s account until after the course has ended. A fee of €15.00 will be charged for this additional administrative work, which must be paid by bank transfer before the certificate is mailed.
10. Duplicate certificates will be issued only upon written request (including by fax or email). A fee of €35.00 is charged for issuing a duplicate, which must be paid by bank transfer before the certificate is sent.
11. The Institute of Radiology is not liable for the loss or theft of items brought by participants.
12. All courses are conducted in accordance with the current state of science and technology. The Institute of Radiology assumes no liability for information provided or for the application of knowledge acquired.
13. Should one or more provisions of these Terms and Conditions be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
